Members of Ballet Women’s Committee held an Auction and Halloween Extravaganza recently at Vestavia Country Club. Thousands of dollars were raised to benefit the Alabama Ballet. The event consisted of a silent auction with hundreds of donated items and services, a gallery showcasing holiday items and plants for sale, a book section and gourmet home baked foods for sale.

President Tammy Towns welcomed more than 300 guests, who were treated to a gourmet luncheon and a fall and holiday fashion show by Steinmart. The Alabama Ballet dancers from “Dracula” delighted attendees with an appearance, modeling and dancing in their costumes. They were presented by Leslie Cooper of the Alabama Ballet.

Models in the fashion show were: BWC members Ms. Towns, Ms. Cooper, Suzanne McQuiston and friends of the BWC Judy Adams, Jennifer Alden, Judy Bradley, Shannon Moore, Betty Ponder, Carolyn Whisenhunt and Patricia Wiley.

Luncheon tablescapes, designed by Belinda Malke, featured large tin vases of fall-colored gerbera daisies with fresh greenery, tall cylinder vases of spiked Vear grass and an array of orange votives on bunched fabric, arranged in pinecone motifs

Mary Kay Campbell of Hoover won the raffle prize, which was a pair of John Hardy diamond-and-silver earrings donated by Barton-Clay Fine Jewelers. A Steinmart gift certificate was presented to BWC member Jane Smith for the most creative Halloween costume, which was a bewitching pumpkin.

Others who donated items to the auction were: Pat Dye, Bart Starr, Johnny Musso, Pat Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, Amy Head, Art Alley, Bear Creek Glass, Bloom-Masterpiece, Blue Willow, Brookwood Dermatology, CharHouse, Dorothy McDaniels, Framin Shoppe, Frank Stitt, Jewels by Rose, Lambs Ears, Lily Pad, Loretta Goodwin, Mark’s Outdoors, Monograms Plus, Prettys by Kristin Harwell, Taylor Hicks, Valley Cleaners and many members.
