its May meeting on May 7 at the home of Mary Angelo. The highlight was the presentation of a check in the amount of $70,000 to representatives of the Alabama Ballet. One of the primary functions of the organization is to support the Alabama Ballet.

The donation represented funds raised from two major annual events—the Fall Extravaganza in October and the Poinsettia Debutante Ball in December. On hand to accept the check were Gia Rabito, Roger Van Fleteren and Tracey Alvey.

Also at the May meeting, the BWC installed new officers for the upcoming club year. They are: Nancy Kennedy, president; Lisa Henley, vice president; Mrs. Angelo, secretary; Stacy Kingren, corresponding secretary; Vicki Kirkpatrick, treasurer, Valerie Dean, assistant treasurer; Sally Young, Poinsettia Ball chairman; and Melinda Helveston, advisor.
